How AI is used
BuyBlurb generates product blurbs based solely on merchant-provided product content, such as titles and descriptions. Your existing product data is treated as the single source of truth.
BuyBlurb does not introduce new factual claims, pricing, availability, guarantees, or legal assertions. Generated content is derived entirely from what you already provide.
Merchants retain full control over:
- What content is submitted for generation
- Whether generated blurbs are saved
- Whether blurbs are published to the storefront
All generated content can be reviewed and edited before use. BuyBlurb assists with clarity and structure—it does not replace merchant judgment.
Safety & responsibility
BuyBlurb includes automated safeguards to help prevent inappropriate or unsafe content from being processed or generated.
To ensure responsible use, merchant inputs may be automatically screened for prohibited material—such as hate speech or other policy-restricted content—before AI generation occurs.
Any content flagged as disallowed is not processed further.
These safeguards help ensure BuyBlurb is used responsibly and in accordance with platform policies, while minimizing the risk of harmful or inappropriate outputs.
Data handling & ownership
BuyBlurb does not permanently store raw product descriptions or merchant input used for AI generation, except where required to provide app functionality (such as usage logs).
Generated blurbs are stored directly in the merchant’s Shopify product metafields and belong entirely to the merchant.
Your content remains available even if you downgrade, pause, or uninstall BuyBlurb. Ownership and access always stay with you.
Compliance
BuyBlurb is designed to align with platform and regulatory expectations, including:
- Shopify App Store policies
- Applicable data protection regulations
- Responsible AI usage guidelines
Safety checks are applied consistently across all generation surfaces, including single-product generation, bulk actions, and preview tools.
BuyBlurb prioritizes transparency, merchant control, and predictable behavior across all AI-assisted features.
